Here is what I've learned (these may be spoilers for upcoming shows if they use any material from the third book, they didn't use much in the second book..)

The "Ice Truck Killer" is called "Tamiami Butcher" in the first book. I'm under the understanding that he kills LaGuerta while Dexter watched in amazement, not wanting to interrupt his brother.

The detective from DC is named Kyle Chutsky instead of Lundy and Deb does still fall for him.

The big killer in the second book is actually very interesting. He is called Dr Danco and he is a past friend of Doakes. He kidnaps victims and gives them a sedative then over a period of several days removes their arms and legs, genitalia, and facial features. Then he leaves. The victim is left alive with a mirror so they can see their mutilated selves. :-)

Th third book explains away the Dark Passenger as being a real entity and the child of some God. BUt the Dark Passenger leaves him which means Dexter is no longer the Dexter we knew and loved. He is left a frightened shell, unable to kill again. But now Cody and Astor have shown tendencies to become sociopaths and Dexter has to train them using the code. Weird huh? Yeah I thought so too...but hey...at least Rita is still alive through all this. And you get to see Cody actually make his first kill.

Oh and did I mention that Deb knows that Dexter is a serial killer? Yeah she uses it to her advantage to advance her career using his knowledge in the criminlally insane and whatnot...

But not to worry, the Dark Pseenger Moloch returns to Dexter and he is made whole again and everything is all happy endings and rainbows...mostly. lol

(Yeah I like to skip around through books to see if I'll actually enjoy the details before I buy them...I also look at books at Books a Million then go home and buy them on amazon if they're good enough. Amazon = good deals on books.)

So I'm planning to either get them from the local library or buy them online...not sure which. But will let you know how the actual reading of them all goes. :-)
