Methadone for Dexter Fans

At the recent Games Developer Conference (GDC), Touch Arcade met with Marc Ecko Entertainment to check out the much anticipated Dexter iPhone Game which is due out this summer. The game which was announced last year in July and has had a lot of attention since they released some high resolution images of the game.  Many people suggested that the images released could not be true of the actual game, as it is with many games, however Touch Arcade have stated that the 3D gameplay is ‘remarkable’.

The game engine was developed by Icarus Studios and is a port of their MMO engine and they reckon that it is rendering the full 3d environment with 30,000 polygons and at 30 frames a second on the iPhone/iPod Touch hardware.  So enough of the tech specs and let’s see it in action:

The initial release will be based on the first 4 episodes of the first season, so each victim is true to the series,  however they have added an extra new victim in each level to increase the interest, probably for the Dexter Diehards!  Some more details on the game are on a previous post here, and another YouTube video which delves a little deeper into the functionality and gameplay (language warning).
