A surprise letter arrives for Dexter, the last will and testament of one Joe Driscoll who named Dexter his son and sole heir. Dexter is shocked as Harry told him that his biological father died 30 years ago. As Dexter travels out of town to pack up the house, Rita decides he needs some company and joins the trip. The weekend becomes a foursome when Rudy convinces Debra that Dexter may need some sisterly love to deal with the past. Back in Miami, Batista is witness to a suspicious shooting involving Doakes and a suspect. After being denied unsupervised visits with his children, Paul begins to slide back into old habits.
