Detective Angelo (Angel) Batista works in Miami Metro Police Homicide division and often works closely with Dexter.  Although he does not share Dexter’s passion for murder, Angel does appreciate the “art of murder”.

Honest to a tee, dedicated and overall a good-natured guy, he is a little emotionally insecure especially when it comes to his wife.  He considers Dexter a very good friend and opens up to him before anyone else in the department.  Dexter believes if he was “normal”, he would consider Angel to be his best friend.
